Happiness is perhaps the greatest desire of all people. If you ask people what they want in their lives, they will say that they just want to be happy.
Happiness has always been the most important goal of every person, but most people are unhappy with their lives. You often hear that happiness is the lack of anxiety and sadness, not to afraid of what is going to happen and being secure. But happiness is not just that. It may when you hurt, believe that you will never again be happy. And yet, experiencing pain, you find happiness.
Happiness is not the same for everyone. It is something personal to every person. The basic requirement of happiness is, then, to know yourself.
The body and the mind tend to resist to something that is trying to change them through the process of pain, making people avoid trying to become happy.
In order someone to achieve true happiness, must choose the pain that could be turned into pleasure. Thus, the mind and the body will be trained and harmony will come between the body, the mind and the soul. A typical example is to have to remove people who are toxic to your life. You will experience the pain of their loss, but you will eventually be led to joy.
A moment of sadness may be revealing. It can make you see things clearly for the first time. Nothing will be the same anymore.
Sadness comes when things change, a relationship ends, someone dies, you are fired from work, you suffer from a disease. Change is the only constant in life. Until the time you learn to accept change and pain, you will suffer. Then, the real happiness comes. Through this pain, you will learn to appreciate every precious moment of this life.
Relief from pain not only increases the feelings of happiness but also reduces the feelings of sadness. Pain may not be a pleasant experience, but it builds happiness in ways that pleasure just can not succeed.
