As you well know, every centimeter in the decor and layout of each room counts. And this is true for any person who ever had to decide which is the correct or the most appropriate layout and arrangement of furniture in the house. And this may seem more obvious in areas that have less square, but can be as big problem even in places where the square centimeters … are more.
Fortunately for us, the German Wimdu residential rental decided to share with us the ‘hidden’ secrets. Recently, in fact, presented a list of six most commonly mistakes that most homeowners thereby “diminish” their space. Let’s see?
Mistake # 1 Matching. You may love to create matches between fabrics, colors and your furniture. However, the so-called “matching” creates the impression that the area is smaller. Why is this happening? Just because our eyes perceive all the different elements of an area as a common set. So what faces like a big and amorphous mass.
What you can do. Break the monotony is combining different textures and colors in pillows or your walls. And if you’re a fan of the combination style, limit your worship for it only on furniture, walls or your accessories – not at all.
Mistake # 2 The dull wallpaper. You may love dark colors and, therefore, decide to dress the walls of your house with a dark wallpaper. However, according to the Wimdu interior, in contrast to paint, the wallpapers dark absorb light thereby to make the space in which significantly smaller.
What you can do. Choose the most open, bright and vivid colors. If you like to have your … black, limit dark shades on a single wall. Here’s how you can decorate with black.
Mistake # 3 The placement of things You may think that putting your furniture up on your walls, your space will look like larger. But the open space opened in the middle of your room actually makes your home look smaller.
What to do Give the furniture and walls of each space the distance they need. If you want to create a large open space, be sure to give it a few centimeters “air” between the furniture and the natural limits.
Mistake # 4 many (and unnecessary) accessories The ancient Greeks argued the importance of the measure – and this attitude is true even for decorative accessories. That’s because, in the case of … thoughtless use, the eye never rests so feel heavy, loaded and less space facing.
What you can do. Limit accessories that decorate every corner of your home. The ideal number is 2-3. Alternatively, consider to put them all in a shelf, library, etc.
Mistake # 5 short curtains. Even if you disagree with this, short curtains make your home look more … short.
What you can do. Replace with long curtains. If you don’t like this idea, simply place the curtain rail as close to the ceiling.
Mistake # 6 Poor lighting. The most small rooms lit by a single table lamp. We have news: the poor lighting will make your room seem smaller and more dull.
What you can do. There is not any Decorative law that limits the number of fixtures that will put in your home. Instead of a reading lamp, then you can put more on your site to give away the more light. Alternatively, consider adding a mirror in your area.
